16 players, including 4 former champions, came together to contest the club singles championships. Played over 3 qualifying rounds with the top 8 progressing to the knockout stages the event was keenly contested with several close games between some of the clubs top players.
In the knockout stages 2009 champion Patrick Robiquet swiftly defeated Bill Wilkinson 13-0 to show the form he was in, whilst Jean-Denis Scatena defeated reigning champion Jeff Rand for the second time in the day to line up an all french semi-final. In the other half of the draw 2007 champion Ross Woodward eased past Nouri Beldacci 13-7 and David Mason saw of Russel Davies in a close run affair 13-11.
The semis saw two keenly contested matches watched keenly by those who had already been knocked out. Patrick, shooting consistantly and carreauing regularly took the first semi final. Ross defeated David 13-6 to make his 3rd club singles final.
In the final Patrick took a swift 6 point lead pointing superbly and shooting with consistancy. Defensive pointing brough Ross back into the game, but there was never any danger to Patrick’s lead as he wound up a comfortable 13-6 winner and deserved 2011 club singles champion and the first player to win the trophy twice.
